I have heard rumors of a program which you can set how many frames per second to capture and then let it auto-capture a video or DVD. Can anyone point me towards this software? I need to start iconning again, but the most time consuming part is capping, and if I could auto-cap I could then cherry pick the images I need from the bazillion capped (it takes me forever to cap one half hour show because I frame by frame through it practically).

Thoughts?

VLC Media Player! And it captures in PNG, too, so you get nice high quality--assuming you have room for a lot of captures. Usually a 90 minute movie with caps taken every 20 frames takes up about 2 GB.

Neither tutorial is perfect but I played around with it and got the hang of it eventually. Good luck!
